Kevin L. Jackson

Kevin L. Jackson is a globally recognized cloud computing expert, thought Leader and Founder/Author of the award winning “Cloud Musings” blog.  He has also been recognized as a “Top 100 Cloud Computing Influencer and Brand” (Onalytica 2017), a “Top Federal IT Blog” (FedTech Magazine 2015,2016), a Huffington Post “Top 100 Cloud Computing Experts on Twitter” (2013), a “Top 50 Cloud Computing Blogger for IT Integrators” by CRN (2015) and a “Top 5 Must Read Cloud Blog” by BMC Software (2015).

 

Mr. Jackson’s commercial experience includes Vice President J.P. Morgan Chase, Worldwide Sales Executive for IBM and Engility Corporation Director Cloud Solutions. Recently he served as part of a team responsible for onboarding mission applications to the US Intelligence Community cloud computing environment (IC ITE). He is also a National Cyber Security Institute Fellow. Publications include, “GovCloud: Cloud Computing for the Business of Government” (Government Training Inc., 2011), “GovCloud II: Implementation and Cloud Brokerage Services" (Government Training Inc, 2012) , “Practical Cloud Security: A Cross Industry View”, (Taylor & Francis, 2016) and “Certified Cloud Security Professional Official (ISC)2 Student Guide” (ISC2, 2017).

Kevin has been deeply involved in the broad collaborative effort between industry and the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology on the broad adoption of cloud computing technologies. He has been certified as an instructor by the National Cloud Technologist Association and the Cloud Credential Council and holds a Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge from the Cloud Security Alliance. Mr. Jackson developed and delivered both half-day executive training seminars and four-day cloud computing training classes to multiple US Army Commands in the US, Europe and Korea. He is also being certified to teach the current Learning Tree cloud computing curriculum. His formal education includes a MS Computer Engineering from Naval Postgraduate School; MA National Security & Strategic Studies from Naval War College; and a BS Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.

Mr. Jackson retired from the U.S. Navy in 1994, earning specialties in Space Systems Engineering, Carrier Onboard Delivery Logistics and carrier-based Airborne Early Warning and Control. While active, he also served with the National Reconnaissance Office, Operational Support Office, providing tactical support to Navy and Marine Corps forces worldwide.
